What My Contractor Didn't Know...

My contractor didn't know his job very well and I was left holding the bag and the bill!

I was asked for payment the day it was declared done, however it isn't done.  In my opinion the contractor I used demonstrated he knows less than I now do with only 1 day of internet research and education.

Serious Structural Issues-  2nd Issue

We have just discovered a new serious structural issue with the wall.  The underlying fabric that is the most important component in holding the sand/soil in place, was left 3 feet apart in the center of the wall.  Sand and soil will wash out of this gap and the top part will fall down and the bottom as well.  The entire wall will fail  as soon as water hits it.

New Update--Credit Rating Impact

My contractor keeps threatening me with collections and says the job is done and that there is no way he will come back to the site, he is done.  I have told him a dozen times that the balance of the job was paid in full the day he said he was done to an escrow account at my attorneys.  That was over two years ago now.  It is still sitting there today.  I have told him he had better not try to ding my credit rating (as they have threatened often) or turn this over to collections.  My attorney has said the same and let them know it is in escrow. Well, today I found out they have indeed negatively impacted my credit rating. 

DO NOT LET THIS BE YOU TOO!!!  I am wasting time calling my attorney again, disputing false collection claims at different credit reporting agencies, costing me time, money, and stress.  DO YOU WANT TO GO THRU THIS TOO?!?!

(hint, look for the dock with all the trees dumped around it, it won’t be to hard because mine is the only dock in the area where trees were buried rather than hauled off as they should have been per the Corp of Engineers requirements and like my contract states my contractor should have done)

I Found My Trees-  3rd Issue

We found all our trees dumped further out in the lake beyond and to the sides of our dock.  I suppose the contractor never counted on the lake level dropping enough to reveal their shortcuts and possible illegal dumping of the debris that was contracted to be hauled off, but they have shown they will lie about it and do just about anything to save a buck. We saw a tree floating away during the job and specifically asked them if they did this and they said "no".  Others have since told me, this is common practice for them.
